Throughout my life I have taken a varied path, exploring the many facets of myself and the world. I have had great loss in my life including a dear friend, my father and my grandmother all in three years. This consecutive grief shifted me greatly and led me to my own healing and my desire to help others through the many challenging and beautiful components of life.
Throughout my career I have worked in social services in various capacities. Some sectors include children with disabilities, women and children fleeing domestic violence, working with First Nations youth in care and outreach counselling with at-risk youth. It has been a humbling and beautiful process of being curious about how others experience the world, through hardships and through breakthroughs. I have learnt that human beings have a need to be seen and understood.
I encourage my clients to work through societal influences and celebrate themselves. I emphasize an honest relationship with self, and communicating of thoughts and feelings, to become more free and to thrive. My priority is to create a non judgemental, client focused space for you to explore the many faces of yourself.
Self-inquiring and getting curious about one’s life, past, and future can bring up questions and reflections. When we observing ourself, our habits, and our behaviours and attribute them to our lives it can be helpful to have someone walk alongside us while doing so. I help folks explore their sense of self, their upbringing, and their choices to help them better understand their values, motives and ultimately their goals to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
I work with both children, youth and adults.
I use approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, co-regulation, narrative therapy, somatic therapy, feminist therapy, to name a few. It is an honour to witness people understand and accept themselves through the healing process of therapy.
I look forward to working with you
